Welcome! Bienvenido! Bienvenue! Yokouso!
My academic and professional interests came to life in college after spending five weeks in Paris. My short time in the French capital inspired me to study in Lyon, France for a year. Since then, I have been passionate about international education.
Following my undergraduate education, I moved to Japan for two years to teach English through the JET Program. My role as a cultural ambassador and volunteer in the community allowed me to facilitate intercultural activites and grassroots exchange. I am proud to share that a few of my former students are now studying abroad.
I became interested in higher education while working at the Asian Languages and Cultures Department at UCLA. The exposure to university administration and academia encouraged me to pursue a Master's degree in International Education Management.
This past December, I graduated from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies (MIIS), where I explored how to increase access to international education opportunities in higher education, mainly through consulting projects. Currently, I find myself back in the city of lights, working with the Middlebury School in Paris.
Upon reflecting, I realized that my interest in international education originated in my multicultural background. A first-generation American, I grew up in a Spanish-speaking household. As a native of the diverse city Los Angeles, I interacted with individuals from different cultural backgrounds throughout my childhood. As such, international education feels like a natural fit for my background, interests, and experience.
I welcome you to look around, and please feel free to get in touch.
Thank you for stopping by!
